Intense and deep color with garnet reflections, this Bergerac Rouge has a fresh nose of red fruits underlined by light toasted notes.

The mouth, which is frank from the beginning, is ample and round and ends with tannins that linger into the finish.
A wine of character that can be appreciated in its youth or after a few years (8-10 years).

VINEYARD

Average age of the vines: 25 years
Average density of the vines: 5000 vines per hectare
Nature of the soil: truncated Luvisols on decarbonated molasse (Rouffignac) and hillside clay-limestone soil (Monbazillac plateau)

WINEMAKING

Harvest at optimum ripeness: manual for the Cabernet Franc and Sauvignon varieties and mechanical for the Merlot variety (harvest dates based on grape variety)
Average yield of 40 hl/ha
Separate vinification adapted to each grape variety in small thermo-regulated tanks
Cold pre-fermentation maceration (8°C) for 3 days with light punch-down of the cap and then, pump-over 2 to 3 times a day during the alcoholic fermentation
Hot post-fermentation maceration (28-30°C) for 7 days
Aged 100% in French oak barrels (1/3 new, 1/3 one year old and 1/3 two years old)
Bottling in September 2024
Total Sulfur Dioxide (sulfites): 35 mg/l (Organic limit: 100 mg/l)
Cellaring: enjoy now until 2031
